Polished Comfort Living Room

In this open living room, we wanted to create a space that was beautiful from every angle, allowed for lounging while watching tv, and could comfortably host large groups.

We designed twin custom sofas with a floral fabric on the backs and a solid performance fabric across the fronts, flanking the stone fireplace. Using the same floral fabric for lumbar pillows, we incorporated rattan cane chairs with solid navy velvet cushions. Now, there's an interesting texture or pattern seen from every viewpoint, without overwhelming the room.

The rarely used ceiling fan was replaced with a large recycled glass and wrought iron chandelier. The white pleated and scalloped lamp shade with blue trim is both on trend and timeless atop the wooden side table. The custom drapes bring a quiet elegance to the room. The bird finials on the pair of sideboard lamps with green pleated shades complement the collection of painted porcelain birds hanging on the wall across the room.

Designing this space to coordinate with the art collection, and with a mix of overhead lighting, table lamps, and floor lamps (all on dimmers), helped transform the space into a bold living room with polished comfort and unique touches. By repeating colors, patterns, and materials throughout, this space is more vibrant, interesting, and packed with personality. 

Get ready to sprawl out for a movie with feet up on the nestled coffee table pull-outs, or comfortably host friends for game night with lots of seating in the beautiful space!
